So it's been awhile since I have posted, sorry about that, it's been hard finding time to keep up with it all. I really wanted to be able to take the kids on a real vacation this summer, but financially it just didn't happen, so we decided to do a "staycation" and try to have a little bit of fun. We started friday and spent a half day doing some school shopping. Now for those of you who have 5 kids to have to school shop for you know where I am coming from. LOL But we did survive a few hours and got most of the kids fitted for shoes and that out of the way, not to mention a date for Shy while we were at it. We then headed back home and to the lake for a few hours of boating with the fam! Thanks Tom & Jen for carting us around in the boat! Saturday morning we got up and ready and headed back to provo and did some more school shopping and then made our way to Salt Lake where we went to the Joseph Smith movie. None of us had been and needless to say it was an amazing thing for us to do as a family and to strentghen our testimonies of the Prophet. We then spent some time walking around Temple Square and went on a tour of the Conference Center. After that we went to the Mayan to eat , none of us had been there before, and although it was a different atmosphere, I don't think its something we will do again. We went to the zoo, I realized that some of my younger kids have never even been to the zoo since they were little babies, so I figured it was about time that we went to the zoo, and then we made a stop at the "This is the place monument." We then finished up school shopping at the Gateway Mall and the younger kids played in the "shooting water" they had had enough of shopping, (I didn't get any pics of them playing in the water dang it) and by the time we got back to them they didn't want to get back in the cold water. But all in all we had a fun weekend and experienced some things that we hadn't before.

Kristie you have a beautiful family. I would sure love to see you a lot more. Seeing your pictures makes me think of what my family is going to look like in a few years. It may not have been a real vacation but your kids will always remember that weekend. Miss you guys!
